Chaenomeles Red Joy is a compact, bushy deciduous shrub with wide spiny branches of glossy oval mid green leaves. Semi double salmon tinted red flowers open in spring on bare stems, followed by fragrant edible green quince fruits ripening to yellow in autumn. Quince fruits can be used to make jams and jellies.
