Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea Bagatelle - Japanese barberry Bagatelle is a very compact, spiny, deciduous shrub with a rounded growth habit. The leaves open in spring a deep red purple colour then become brighter in autumn. Pale yellow flowers in spring followed by red berries in autumn. Grows to about 30cm tall.

Eventual height and spread up to 0.5 metres

This is a deciduous shrub so it will lose all its leaves in autumn shooting fresh new growth in the spring
