Berberis thunbergii f. atropupurea Red Chief  - Barberry is a medium size, upright deciduous shrub with long arching branches and bright red narrow leaves. 

Eventual height up to 1.5 metres. 

This is a deciduous shrub so it will lose all its leaves in autumn shooting fresh new growth in the spring
