Rubus cockburnianus - white stemmed bramble is a thicket forming, deciduous shrub with arching branches of prickly stems bloomed brilliant white in winter. Long dark green pinnate leaves up to 20cm long with whitish undersides. Panicles of small saucer shaped purple flowers followed by inedible rounded black fruits in summer. Full sun. 

Eventual height and spread up to 2.5 to 4 metres

This is a deciduous shrub so it will lose all its leaves in autumn shooting fresh new growth in the spring.
