Magnolia soulangeana Black Tulip is an upright, deciduous small tree or shrub with ovate dark green leaves. Large cup shaped flower buds open into goblet shaped deep pink to purple in flowers in spring before leaves. Probably the deepest colour of all the flowering Magnolias. Full sun or part shade. 

Eventual height and spread up to 4 metres.
