Blue Holly 

Ilex Heckenblau - Blue Holly is so called blue holly from Germany. A compact, slender, upright evergreen shrub with dark green elliptic to rounded serrated edged leaves not to prickly. The young leaves open a green burgundy red colour turning green then dark burgundy red with purple tints in autumn. A male variety with no fruit but an ideal pollinator for female hollies. Hardy and can be pruned. Excellent for hedges or windbreaks. Full sun or part shade. 

Eventual height up to 2 to 3.5 metres with a spread of up to 1 to 1.5 metres.
