Ilex J.C. van Tol is a small evergreen shrub or small tree open in habit with purple young shots. Glossy nearly spineless dark green leaves with small dull white flowers in spring and summer followed by large bright red berries in autumn and winter. Ideal for hedging and suitable for coastal locations. 

Eventual height up to 4 - 8 metres with a spread of up to 2.5 to 4 metres.
