Drimys lanceolatea is a dense upright evergreen shrub or small tree with dark red leathery shoots and glossy dark green leaves. Produces clusters of fragrant pale yellow or white flowers in mid to late spring followed by black fruit in autumn. 

Eventual height up to 4 metres with a spread up to 2.5 metres
