Japanese Dogwood

First introduced in China in 1910 this is an improved early flowering form of Cornus kousa var. chinensis. Produces masses of large creamy white flower bracts in June followed by brightly coloured strawberry like fruits in autumn after a hot summer. A large shrub and eventually a small tree with a branching crown. Hardy.
