Cornus alba Kesselringii - Black stemmed dogwood or White dogwood Kesselringii is a vigorous deciduous shrub with upright dark red stems turning purplish black in winter. Oval leaves open green in spring then become red and purple in autumn. Small cream flowers in spring summer followed by white berries in autumn. Contrasts well with red and yellow stemmed varieties of dogwood. Good autumn colours. Full sun or part shade. Best if pruned hard in early April.
Eventual height and spread up to 1.5 to 2.5 metres
