Chaenomeles Elly Mossel is rounded  deciduous, shrub with spiny spreading branches of glossy ovate dark green leaves. Clusters of large scarlet flowers in spring followed by edible green quince fruits ripening to yellow. 

Eventual height up to 1.2 metres with a  spread of up to 2 metres.
