Japanese Flowering Quince Toyo-nishiki
Chaenomeles Toyo-nishiki is an upright deciduous shrub with thorny branches of ovate to rounded glossy dark green leaves. Clusters of red, pink and white flowers in early spring opening on bare stems before the leaves. Flowers are followed by red flushed yellow green fruits in autumn usually used for making jams and jellies. Can be trained to grown against a wall or use as a spreading shrub in borders. Can be planted in full sun or part shade conditions.
Eventual height and a spread of up to 3 metres.
