Silver Birch
Betula pendula is a large narrow conical deciduous tree with beautiful peeling white bark. Diamond shaped green leaves turning yellow in autumn. Brown catkins are produced in early spring on the graceful arching weep branches. A very versatile plant suitable for most sites. Grows up to 0.60 to 0.90 metres or 2 to 3 feet per year as a young tree. Very attractive when planted close together in groups. Can be planted in full sun or part shade conditions.
Eventual height up to 12 metres plus with a spread up to 8 metres plus over 20 to 50 years.
