Acer palmatum Twombly's Red Sentinel - Japanese Maple Twombly's Red Sentinel is a slow growing upright deciduous tree with leaves opening bright red in spring then becoming reddish green or purple red in summer. During autumn the leaves turn a blazing red colour before falling. Stems are bright red in winter giving vibrant colour and all year round interest. Full sun or part shade. Shelter from cold, strong winds and leaf scorching.

Eventual height up to 2.5 to 4 metres with a spread of up to 1.5 to 2.5 metres.
