Acer palmatum Sango-kaku - Coral bark Maple / Japanese Maple Sango-kaku is a large bushy, deciduous shrub or small tree with coral red young branches and pinkish yellow lobed leaves opening in spring. In summer the leaves turn green and then yellow in autumn before falling. Small reddish flowers in spring followed by red fruits. The branches are coral red in winter giving all year round interest.  Full sun or part shade. Shelter from cold, strong winds and very hot sun.

Eventual height up to 4 to 8 metres with a spread of up to 2.5 to 4 metres.
